Appauling service, fake ad and threatening behaviour from staff when addressed

Disclaimer:
This blog is not a form of slander, but simply a safety warning to people who may consider buying a car from these people. I am simply providing a service to the public who are at risk of being conned by these people.

Experience Overview
I recently brought a car from A38 Direct Cars - that was my first mistake.

The advert for the car stated that it had a working CD/stero and it had parking senses.

we didnt check the CD player and we noticed that the senses didnt actually seem to exist when we took the car for a test drive. We were supposed to raise the issue with them but as they were being fairly pleasant and kept talking to us, we forgot to raise it.

They told me to leave a deposit cheque with them, i explained i couldnt confirm i was purchasing the car until my partner agreed - they said that i had no need to worry and that they would not cheat me out of my deposit - however without letting me read it, got me to sign something that stated they would cash the cheque even if i didnt buy the car.

On top of that, they claim to have AA checks on all the cars, this is not true. We (luckily) got the RAC to check out the car - it came back with 9 faults - some of which were pretty serious - the work would have ended up costing us close to a grand to fix! They agreed to do the work in the price, however unless we pay the £200 again there is no way of knowing that they have completed all the work, but the visual work, we know they have not done/done properly as you can see a few weeks on where the paint is pealing and fading!.

When we went to pick the car up, it was making a creaking sound which the members of staff made out they couldnt hear when three of us said we could.

And then, the stero codes they provided us with didnt work, we went back to see them, he said look take the car and arrange to get the code sorted and we'll give you the money for it.

They had tried pulling the stero out and wrecked the clips - the main dealer garage said they needed to book it in becasue the clips were broken which would cost £40 and the code would cost £28. We booked it in and then called A38directcars.com they denied agreeing to pay the fee and i had to speak to three different people, all of whom spoke appaulingly!!

I ended up having to get a man to ring on my behalf because of how rude and dismissive they were being - they then threatened him!!

So not only were they trying to sell a car which wasnt really fit to drive, had a £1000 worth of faults in it and a wrecked stero, but they didnt do what they had promised to do during the sale.

Also, i part exchanged my car - even though they gave me the maximum trade value - all they did was look at the car, they didnt check it was in working order.

My car wasnt in the best condition - they didnt check - this is obviously their normal practice, i'm just concerned that someone is going to buy that car, looking at the spec (as i did) and think their getting a perfect car.

I brought the car i sold to them in 2006 - i sold it to them this year, three years later, however they are selling the same car £2000 more expensive than i brought it three years ago and its now in a worse condition than when i brought it!

You could potentially be buying that car!!! Be very cautious when buying cars from this company, they may be professional to start with, but as soon as you start realising their cars are not it good condition - they turn nasty very quick!

BE CAREFUL, GET THE CAR CHECKED OUT BEFORE BUYING!
